“Awesome little diner and take out restaurant. Small and very cute and cheery inside. Feels very, very cozy. Waitstaff is always pleasant and food is great. They also serve beer and wine which is very nice. Their pizza is fantastic as well as the pasta dishes I have tried-chicken parm and chiken, broccoli and ziti. Great Caesar salad as well. So far for breakfast have only gotten a few of the sandwiches which are very good as well. Look forward to having a proper sit down breakfast here one day as well. All in all great neighborhood low-key restaurant.”

“Love L street. Always great service (delivery or pick up) and the food is a sure bet. Their Greek salad is my favorite in Southie, and I LOVE Greek salad. Pizza is fantastic. I love just a simple cheese. I also love strolling over here for a simple hassle free brunch.”

“Sometimes it gets pretty busy for breakfast. Reasonable prices, especially for southie. Pizza is awesome as well as the grinders. My go to for breakfast is the Irish eggs Benny, it used to be a special but has become so popular they have put it on the menu! Family owned place, small town vibe.”

“For me the pizza is the best in Southie! Honestly, I have never had anything bad here since I moved to Southie over 10 years ago. My favorites are chicken broccoli and ziti (garlic bread)… turkey tips,,, all desserts (yeah, yeah, yeah)…. really nice people work here and they take pride in their food! I consider it my go to place.”

“Good greasy spoon! Pizza here is pretty good, several different options. You can also get breakfast all day! They do deliveries after a certain time which is good. If you get table service, you feel like family! Turkey club is yummy. Good taste of Southie!”

“This is an awesome little sit-down restaurant, and take-out pizzeria on the side.
I wandered in here starving one evening, and found the place to be completely deserted at 6pm! But not for long, the place had filled up to capacity by 7:30, and there was good reason for that! L St Diner is a warm and cozy place, that is small enough to feel like you have found a little gem in South Boston.  My waitress was kind and attentive.  There are a few wines available, and she recommended one based on it being “new”, which was odd, but turned out to be good anyway.
The salad was a monster bowl of iceberg and hothouse tomatoes, as expected.  The pizza was made within 15 minutes, as ordered, and it was great!
Take-out pizza a month later was also great!”

“After two in our party were politely declined seating at a restaurant nearby, we decided take-out from L Street was a better option. Walked in, placed an order, waited around, and left with more pizza and calzone than we knew what to do with.

Note: it’s apparently very easy to over-order here, and unless you’re feeding an army small calzones are probably just fine. We on the other hand ended up with 2 large calzones and a large pizza to feed only five people… two of which were asleep when we arrived back at the house.

So that amount of food only had three possible fates – dinner that night, breakfast the next morning, or left out on the counter (for what wouldn’t even fit in the refrigerator!)

We had the buffalo chicken and chicken parm calzones, and the supreme pizza (pepperoni, hamburger, sausace, tomato, onion, peppers & mushrooms).

Oh, and also the mozzarella sticks.

Definitely some of the tastiest, largest eats I’ve had for a while.”
